We Believe in Community Service
At OPT, we volunteer together, sponsor local teams and events, and donate to our communities because we love living out our mission statement, “to improve the quality of life of all of those around us.”
You can find us handing out gloves and hats, donated by our patients, to those in need at local churches and food banks. You’ll find us serving at Vine Maple Place. You will see us providing free injury screens to Raise the Bar triathletes and sponsoring this local triathlon team.
Every year, we collect food to donate to local hunger relief agency, Northwest Harvest, and deliver holiday gifts to those experiencing homelessness at Vine Maple Place. And, every summer, we sponsor the South King County Challenge to promote healthy lifestyles in our communities.
So. King County Challenge
We are proud to sponsor the So. King County Challenge and be part of a widespread community effort to encourage healthy living. Throughout the summer, fun run/walk events are held in each of these four cities: Covington, Federal Way, Kent and Maple Valley. Those who have never run or walked in a race before are encouraged to participate, and those who complete all four events are recognized for being community leaders in healthy living.
Raise the Bar
Because we are passionate about helping people stay active, we sponsor Raise the Bar, the largest, most-participatory multisport team in the Pacific Northwest. We support Raise the Bar athletes by providing free injury screens and discounted massage therapy and personal training services.
Vine Maple Place
One of the ways we live out our mission statement, “to improve the quality of life of all of those around us,” is through our work with Vine Maple Place. With a vision to “end family homelessness in Maple Valley and surrounding areas,” Vine Maple Place provides housing and support services for single-parent families. Outpatient Physical Therapy supports this noble vision through financial support, holiday gifts, and volunteer service.
We love providing opportunities for Outpatient Physical Therapy patients to give back to our community along with us. One of the ways we do this is by collecting food in each of our clinics to donate to Northwest Harvest. Northwest Harvest is Washington’s statewide hunger relief agency that strives to “provide nutritious food to hungry people statewide in a manner that respects their dignity.”
So King ChallengePromoting Family and Healthy Lifestyles, Together.
The third annual So. King Challenge consists of four run/walk events across South King County. These races have come together to encourage the community to get started and continue on the road to a healthy lifestyle.
To be a part of the So. King Challenge you must participate in three of the four summer events. You must register for each event individually. At the conclusion of the Summer’s End Fun Run, participants will receive community recognition for being health leaders, a finisher’s medal, and their name will be placed into a drawing for fabulous prizes. So King Challenge is sponsored by Outpatient Physical Therapy.
Races are held across South King County in the cities of Covington, Federal Way, Kent and Maple Valley. Click the links below to get detailed information about each race including how to register.
