In 2013, she graduated from Ithaca College with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy.   At OPT, Sarah loves making an impact on the Kent community through one-on-one patient care in a fun and engaging environment.

Jake Jensen

Physical Therapist, DPT
Clinic: Kent Easthill

He’s an outdoor enthusiast who loves to rock climb, ski, camp, hike and hunt. Jake used to play semi-pro football and experienced both surgery and physical therapy personally after tearing the labrum of his shoulder.

But it was an undergraduate professor at Utah Valley University who inspired Jake to pursue a career in physical therapy. Astonished by the professor’s physical therapy knowledge skills, Jake became passionate about combining an understanding of the human body with caring, personal interactions. After earning his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from University of Colorado, he moved to Washington, the rainiest state he has ever lived in, to begin his orthopedic residency at OPT.

At OPT, he appreciates how the owners and staff care about him as a person, not just another employee. As a physical therapist, he most enjoys helping people get back to what they are most passionate about.

Education:

  • Doctorate in Physical Therapy, University of Colorado

Professional Certifications: Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist (OCS) – in process

Interests: When he is not working, studying orthopedic physical therapy, Jake is learning a new outdoor pursuit: backcountry skiing.

Olga Polkhovskaya

Physical Therapist Assistant, PTA
Clinic: Kent Easthill

“Physical therapy – the science of healing and the art of caring.”

She’s an international traveler who loves to learn about history and experience new cultures.   Olga’s love for learning also led her to Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) school: she chose physical therapy because of her interest in courses like Biology, Anatomy and Physiology.

Olga worked at OPT’s Kent Easthill clinic as a student PTA, then became an employee upon graduating with her PTA degree from Green River Community College in 2008.   She appreciates that OPT is a patient-focused company that prioritizes creating a fun and comfortable atmosphere for both employees and patients. Working closely with talented Physical Therapists and ongoing learning opportunities are two of her favorite things about being a PTA.

Education:

  •  PTA program at Green River Community College

Interests: When she’s not working or traveling, Olga enjoys spending her time hiking and playing the piano.

Karen Nolting

ACE, Personal Trainer
Clinic: Kent Easthill

“I love seeing people reap the rewards of an active lifestyle! As a professional, my greatest reward is when a client meets a goal! Whether the goal is to lose weight, race an Ironman triathlon or improve the clinical numbers. I always feel honored to play a role in their success.”

She’s a trail runner, mountain biker and hiker. So it’s no surprise that mountains are Karen’s “happy place.”   An Alaskan native, she loves snow and life in the Pacific Northwest with Bentley the Wonder Dog and her husband, Rick.

Karen loves being a Certified Personal Trainer because she gets to help people improve their health, and, therefore, their lives. She especially appreciates that OPT provides the opportunity for patients who have completed care to continue to exercise in a fun and safe environment.

Education and Certifications:

  • American Council on Exercise
  • Personal Trainer Certification
  • American Heart Association
  • CPR and First-Aid Certifications

Interests: When she first moved to Seattle, she rode her bicycle along the bus routes to learn the area. Now she rides with the Kent-based and OPT-sponsored multisport team, Raise the Bar.

Andrea Reeser

Massage Therapist, LMP
Clinic: Kent Easthill

Motivated by her desire to help people cope with pain in an alternative way, Andrea pursued a career in massage therapy.   A graduate of Ashmead Massage School, she loves her job because she gets to make positive changes in the lives of others. Andrea appreciates OPT’s prioritization of the patient experience and therapist consistency.

Education:

  • Graduate of Ashmead Massage School

Interests: You’ll find her reading and spending time with friends and family – especially her two children – when she’s not working.

Alexis Smith

Physical Therapist, DPT
Clinic: Kent Easthill

“I am passionate about treating the pelvic floor to improve quality of life, and I feel almost everyone can benefit from this type of treatment.”

She was accepted to both veterinary and physical therapy graduate schools, and chose physical therapy because she wanted to help people improve their overall wellness. Alexis is passionate about holistic health and strives to get a broad picture of each patient’s lifestyle, including wellness, nutrition and state of mind.

In her free time, you’ll find Alexis spending time with animals (especially dogs), playing basketball and reading. Alexis also enjoys hiking, camping and cycling.

After earning her undergraduate degree from Centre College in Kentucky, Alexis graduated from Western Kentucky University with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT). She is working toward her board certification in Pelvic Health and plans to become certified in Professional Yoga Therapy as well.
