Speed and Agility Training
A Sports Performance and Enhancement Program
Pro-F.A.S.T. is a personal training program addressing sports and fitness outcomes. With exclusive use of Pneu-mex™ equipment one gains results in speed and agility in nine short weeks. The goal is to address, minimize and correct "power leaks" caused by faulty posture, gait, balance, and muscle imbalances throughout the athlete's movement pattern.
- Initial Evaluation: given by a physical therapist, a movement specialist helps to identify weak areas. Evaluation includes:
- Gait Analysis: provides a guideline for strapping the legs into neutral patterns to regain more efficient movement.
- Posture Mapping: a computerized evaluation that notes the efficiency of the back and the amount of lean
- Core Strength Assessment: To note strength overall, and right versus left side strength or deficiencies.
- Speed assessment: to verify efficiency in sprint distances, noting acceleration of speed and the maintenance phase of running.
- Vertical leap assessment: Clarifies ability to incorporate muscle firing in sequence to efficiently explode muscles.
8 Weeks of training program using:
TREADMILL WORK:
- ACCELERATION WORKOUT: Pneu-mex™ system has the client strapped in and "un-weighting" to allow high speeds on the treadmill without fear of falling. Clients are able to run forward and backward, working as offensive or defensive players to engage and accelerate at faster speeds. Clients are using Treadmills at incredible speeds reaching as high as 25 mph.
- TRANSITION WORKOUT: again, "un-weighted" client is moving in 360° on the treadmill. Correct muscle firing and sequencing is required to establish proprioceptive abilities (awareness of position in space.)
- CORE STRENGTHENING: Creating a central foundation on which all other movements are supported. Pro-F.A.S.T. uses a variety of core exercises at various levels of challenge to incorporate the ability to move upper body independent of the lower body.
- PLYOMETRICS AND STRENGTHENING: Using professional size vibration plates to challenge the body's support system for greater neuromuscular firing. This technique improves the control of the body through space.
The Pro-F.A.S.T. program works great as a team builder, enhancing the competitive spirit. It also functions to assist in establishing pelvic and leg stability, minimizing injuries with special interest in preventing ACL injuries. Participants of the Pro-F.A.S.T. program tend to weather the strains of a season of high intensity sports with less-over exertion injuries. Fatigue injuries are decreased. Cardiovascular endurance is also improved through the vesting system of the Pneu-mex™ system.
