She’s a Montana girl with a love for the outdoors and running.   You’ll find Rachel hiking, skiing, snowshoeing and running long distances in her free time.

Because of her fascination with how the body works and her active lifestyle, Rachel pursued a career in physical therapy. She is a graduate of Trinity International University and the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. A Women’s Health Clinical Specialist (WCS), Rachel is passionate about treating men and women with pelvic floor dysfunction. She loves being a Physical Therapist because of the opportunity to work with so many different people, and it makes her day when a patient says they are feeling better.

At OPT, Rachel appreciates the family feel of the clinics and the motivation of the therapists to work together to help patients recover as quickly as possible.

Interests: When she is not being active outdoors with her husband and German Shepherd, Reya, she enjoys reading, scrapbooking and playing the piano.

Rebecca Fowler

Physical Therapist, DPT, OCS

A Colorado native, Rebecca loves spending time in the Rockies backpacking, rock climbing and skiing.   She is fluent in Spanish and holds a Bachelor’s in Anthropology from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

While working in healthcare with an underserved population, Rebecca recognized the need for and importance of physical therapy.   Passionate about serving others and improving functional movement, she moved to Washington to pursue her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Puget Sound.

Rebecca feels honored to work at OPT because of its patient-centered, compassionate care.   Ongoing staff training and community service align with her personal values, and she loves working with patients to design individualized rehabilitative programs to achieve optimal movement, healing and fitness.

Rebecca has published and/or conducted research on trigger point dry needling, muscle tone and joint dysfunction through the University of Colorado.

Interests: When she’s not spending her free time in the mountains, you’ll find Rebecca making homemade pie (and eating it!) and spending time with her husband, daughter and beagle.

Brigette Schwimmer

She has an Associate’s degree in journalism, a Bachelor’s in Biology, and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy! Brigitte is both a learner and a teacher, and a world traveler as well.  She traveled to Thailand to teach English and learned Spanish in Guatemala.

Brigitte wanted to be a Physical Therapist so she could help people reach their full potential utilizing a physical and mental approach. At OPT, she loves the passion for patient care and relaxed atmosphere. She believes in practicing what she preaches by exercising and eating healthily as she encourages her patients to do.

Heather Newman

A competitive weightlifter, Heather wants her patients to know that she has an easygoing personality but she expects them to work! After competing as a gymnast for 10 years, she became a gymnastics coach and a national-level judge.

Heather wanted to help others return to their best lives, so she studied to become a Physical Therapist Assistant at George Wallace Community College in Dothan, Alabama. She loves being a part of the joy people feel when they regain the ability to return to their daily activities and favorite hobbies.
